CRS Edmonton Spring Conference 2025
May 16-17, 2025
Strike the Ground
The world has entered perilous times in Church and human history. (2 Tim 3:1) It seems that the darkness is increasingly accelerating with a fierceness and a shocking violence. Tragically, deception is overtaking and overcoming many in the Body of Christ.
The Lord is calling a company of people to an intensity of zeal and passion, to an intentionality and a focus as to advance His Kingdom. We are to fill the earth with the fruit of the knowledge of His glory. (Habakkuk 2:14)
The seriousness of this season is demanding a sober response from God’s beloved ones. We can no longer afford to be casual in our Christian walk.
A clarion call is issuing rallying the Body of Christ to belong wholeheartedly to the Lord Jesus and to a loving and willing obedience to Him. No more half-heartedness, lukewarmness, mixture, compromise! Or... we will have missed our opportune time.
It is time for restoration of hearts to the Lord.
It is time to “strike the ground” until we walk in the fullness of the victory of the cross.
The window of opportunity is open now. The year 2025 is one of multiplied grace, one of restoration. (Joel 2:25)
Come and be refired, transformed and equipped through the power of the Holy Spirit as to co-labor with God, and bring heaven to earth.
Featured Speakers

Jim Murphy
Jim Murphy is a Catholic evangelist, lay preacher, master storyteller, and teacher of the Gospel. Jim, (also known as Butch), is president of Vera Cruz Communications. The core mission of Vera Cruz (meaning “true cross” in Spanish), is to bringing the Gospel to people in their everyday lives. Jim believes that the vital message of the Gospel, must be presented in ways that are understandable, not only to a Christian audience, but to secular listeners as well. Vera Cruz Communications for that reason, has a ”down to earth”, homespun approach to its communication and services. Jim is committed to work not only in the Church, but in the marketplace, neighbourhood, and home as well.
In 1992 Jim undertook a 4,200 mile walk across the United States, carrying a cross on his shoulders. The action was typical of his use of drama and symbols to gather people so they can hear and be challenged by the Gospel message.
Jim Murphy is a graduate of Wayne State University’s school of Social work. Since that time he has been involved in many areas of leadership, teaching, youth ministry, and seminars. Jim was the Director of the Detroit Charismatic Renewal, Executive Director of the All Michigan Catholic Charismatic Conference, past Chairman of the National Service Committee for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, and the Youth Executive committee for the North American Renewal Services. Jim was formerly part of the National Association of Diocesans and the former Director of the Holy Spirit Institute. Jim was the last President of International Catholic Charismatic Services.
Jim also works among the poor in Mexico City, as a country coordinator for a mission outreach of Renewal Ministries.
