“And the disciples were continually filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 13:52)

Let us celebrate the feast of Pentecost in gracious and joyful thanksgiving to our heavenly Father for the precious and costly gift of the Holy Spirit released upon the life, death and resurrection of His Son Jesus.

The Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father and we are, as believers, children of the promise as were the 120 disciples in the Upper Room at the birthing of the Church, the Ecclesia. There could be no true church without the Holy Spirit; the One who empowers us to be witnesses of salvation (Acts 1:8).

The Holy Spirit pours the love of the Father in our hearts and He alone connects us intimately to the Lord Jesus. Jesus commissioned believers to preach the Kingdom Gospel, just as He did. He passed the baton to us. And, He Himself needed the Holy Spirit to do the Father’s will and to bring the Kingdom of heaven unto the earth. So how much more do we require the Holy Spirit to continue Jesus’ work?

The call is for us to be owned and possessed by the Holy Spirit as to walk intimately with the Lord Jesus. As Jesus said, “He who believes in Me, out of his innermost being (womb) shall flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38) and “He was speaking of the Holy Spirit given to those who believe” (John 7:39).

The call is for us to birth the very life of Jesus on the earth and be dispensers of the Spirit, giving away of the presence of God.

This is the Good News Gospel!

Come to the vigil and rekindle the flame of the Spirit within your heart. Be renewed! Be re-fired! Never lag in zeal and burn aglow with the Holy Spirit, serving the Lord. (Romans 12:11) “Lord, let my life be an altar. Light up my lungs with your praise”. (Song: “When Wind Meets Fire”)

Breathe on us, Holy Spirit! A fresh anointing! A great awakening! A reformation! Transform our households, our church, our cities and our nation! This is the hour of the anointing! Let Your glory fall on us! Have your way, Lord!
